Based in Dartford we are an innovative and professional dance school. Our dancers are aged between 3 and 17 and are all bursting with enthusiasm, willingness to learn, talent and dedication.
Learning to dance is a life skill that is a privilege and a tool that can aid children in all walks of life as they grow into young adults. At Knight’s Academy, we ensure that the children know how lucky they are to have such wonderful opportunities and ensure that our teaching is of the high standard that our pupils deserve.

Join Our Dance Community
The Academy welcomes children of all abilities from beginners to advanced dancers from 3+ years old. We offer a variety of classes from dance to drama and provide children with the opportunity to take exams in ISTD and IDTA as recognition of their hard work and dedication. The Academy also offers children performance opportunities throughout the year as well as our annual Easter Camp and Summer school
Demi Pointe
Preparation for Pointe
This is a preparation class for pointe work to focus on the correct technique and to build up strength. demi-pointe gives a dancer a more gradual transition to pointe work. Wearing the correct Demi-Pointe shoes allows the dance to get used to the feel of a pointe shoe before learning to dance on pointe.
Pointe Work
A Delicate Strength
Every ballet dancer dreams of the day they can finally purchase their first pair of pointe shoes! This class is an invitation only class for when a students has reached a a high level of ballet technique and strength.
It is where the dancer will stand on the tip of their toes in specially designed shoes. They are all designed to support the full weight of the dancer.
The effect is simply beautiful, the essence of grace and poise.
Street Dance
Pop it & Lock it
Street Dance is a fun and energetic style of dance. It is an umbrella term which encompasses a range of dance styles characterised by descriptions such as hip hop, funk and breakdancing. Its diverse nature has taught us new styles such as popping, locking, waving and krumping.
Acrobatic Arts
Flex it out
Acrobatic Arts is a unique blend of dancing and gymnastic disciplines that is taking the dance world by storm. Loved by both teachers and students, Acrobatic Arts is a multi-discipline blend and is also known as Acro Dance. Acro Dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It teaches tricks, tumbles, fitness, strength and flexibility
Singing
Sing Your Heart Out
Singing is the perfect add-on to a dancer's weekly routine. It teaches breath control and stamina as well musicality and performance technique. You will learn a wide variety of songs whilst working on tone, projection and range. Singing is part of musical theatre. You can also add on solo or group singing lessons.

Examinations
ISTD, IDTA, Acrobatic Arts, LAMDA
The Academy provides children with an opportunity to take exams throughout the academic year. We aim for our students to constantly learn new skills and have work towards to achieve as recognition of their hard – work and dedication.
We offer ISTD Imperial Classical Ballet and Tap, IDTA Street and Contemporary, Acrobatic Arts for Acro Dance and LAMDA for drama. We are currently looking at introducing singing examinations later in the year.
Competition Team
Committed to Quality
The Knight’s Academy of Dance Competition Teams provide an opportunity for students to develop discipline, responsibility, self-confidence and co-operation in a professional, yet fun, dance environment.
We are going in to our fourth season of competing and have already had some great success at competition level.
Members of the The Knight’s Academy of Dance Performing Team are selected for participation on an annual basis through audition only, We are constantly looking for new talent and hold auditions in November. No student of Knight’s Academy of Dance is required to be a member of the Competition Team, therefore participation is considered a privilege.
Holiday Clubs
Dance Intensives
The Academy is an extremely busy school and we offer additional classes during each half term, coaching sessions for examinations, summer dance fun days as well as Dance Intensives.
Time To Shine
Our Annual Showcase
We have our annual showcase at the end of every academic year for all students. We like to provide our students with the best experiences possible. We put on a Musical Theatre production to include dancing, singing and acting every other year and perform in our dance showcase ‘Knight’s Camera Action’ at The Orchard Theare every alternate year.
